DHPL 2025 AGM Proposals 2 shot rule… To remain as 2 shots don’t carry but making the free ball with the first shot an option rather than a fixed rule 1 division… Returning to 1 “winter league” division to run from the first Monday in September with the abolition of the “summer league” Points system… Rather than 1 point for a win and nothing for a loss, return to the old scoring system where each leg is worth a point, more rewarding for narrow defeats Sign up sheet… As in other local leagues, players need to be signed up, name address and phone number, in order to play, you can have as many players signed as you like but players can only play for 1 team and must be signed up by 6pm Sunday before next match I’d like to suggest a move over to international or blackball rules, a copy of which can be found easily online I’d also like to see the qualification of an “8 ball clearance” changed, I think it should be as simple as your opponent having all 7 of their colours remaining I’d also like to see a standards of pool table implemented, cloth and cushions should be to a level as well as lighting and room around to play I’d also like to see a designated referee for each game, too many instances of uncalled fouls this season Return the captains point so there is something to play for because when it’s near the end of the season and you can’t win the captains trophy it becomes a pointless game so at least it will have something to play for I don’t think it’s happened but we do this in darts, think it’s a good idea but the captain can’t play in the last singles so for example, if you have 7 players and you drop your self (the captain) in the singles and their team has 6 and captain plays the last singles then they’ve got an advantage playing straight after whereas the other captain hasn’t got used to the table Return to the old two shot rule where the two shots carries after potting on the first shot And nominating after potting of the break, I think even if you pot a red it should be the first ball you touch after the break if you pot is your colour but if you don’t pot off the break then it’s the first ball you pot is your colour
